About the Foundation
The Hospice Foundation of Acadiana is a publicly supported tax exempt corporation which was created by the board of directors of Hospice of Acadiana, Inc., a non-profit organization, and which serves as the primary fundraising organization to help underwrite the programs and services of Hospice of Acadiana, Inc. The Foundation was officially established in May 1996 and was granted non-profit status under Section 501(c)(3) of the IRS code in May 1997.

Contributions to the Hospice Foundation of Acadiana are tax-deductible.

The purpose of the Hospice Foundation of Acadiana is four-fold:
 
To plan and implement a broad-based program of diverse fund-raising activities;

To manage the financial resources generated from these activities, including the investment and disposition of assets;

To allocate funds to Hospice of Acadiana, Inc.;

To make grants to other organizations when the Foundation board of directors deems appropriate, provided that those organizations qualify as publicly supported tax-exempt organizations and their activities benefit Hospice of Acadiana, Inc.
